Hi, I’m an admin for a group called Pixel Artists, and we’d love to have your photo added to the group.
it looks like a vector piece though :/
Good stuff! Thanks for adding all the info. Here’s some more you might not know about this lovely landmark, that I can add because I live directly across 11th Street from it:
The day starts at 1:50 AM at this post office, when the first truck arrives. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP is the noise the truck makes as it backs into the loading docks. THWACK!!!! The earth shatters as the metal back of the truck hits the loading platform. RUMBLE RUMBLE come the massive carts full of mail, for 10 or 15 straight minutes of RUMBLING. Then, just as the RUMBLE gets repetitive enough to sleep by, it stops, followed by a massive VVVRRROOOOM!! The truck engine starts up again and the truck pulls out. Gently… ever so gently… you drift back to sleep. For about 20 minutes. And then?? BEEP BEEP BEEP the cycle of post office life begins anew as a the next truck arrives.
I estimate that 500 to 1,000 people are irritated by this post office every single night… except Saturday night, which is really Sunday morning, which the post office takes off because it’s the Lord’s Day. Which works out perfectly because you wouldn’t be able to hear it anyway on Saturday night over all the drunken fights tumbling out of Webster Hall.
But I shouldn’t complain. My apartment is only $1,485/mo for a 300-squre-foot studio. Rent stablized!
((lol)) pwopy!!
