Question: openoffice downloaded program can be open in a ms word office?
i downloaded Open Office and start using word, i saved it in my documents. i dont have a printer so i was thinking to save it in usb and bring it to computer shop to print it. can an ms office word program can read this? would it be on the same layout?

You have to save the document in MS-Word format, not the native Open Office format. Once you do that, it should open in Word with all your formatting intact.

during save, save using the format .doc then microsoft word should be able to read it

Yes, just go to File>Save As..

Then when the widow opens, down in the lower right you will see a drop down box where you can set the format to “Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc)”
save it as that format to you USB key and Word will be able to open it and keep your formating.

The default format is .odt, i believe.
you have to make sure to save you files as .doc files.

There’s a drop-down menu under the file naming box, just select microsoft word 97/xp/2000.
