Not really. If it’s an open plan office, all it takes is for one person to have a cold or whatever, then it just spreads. You could suggest that people be extra villigent with hand-washing, etc (like after blowing their noses, then they touch something and leave their germs all over it for the next person to pick up), and encourage people who are genuinely ill to stay home for the day.

It could be a problem with the ventilation and being in an air conditioned room for a long time with a person with a cold or flu. You have to take precautions of your own. For instance, take vitamin c or green tea pills regularly. These will strengthen your anti-body and your immune system. So you won’t easily fall prey to the germs floating around in your office. Eat well, lots of fruit and veggies. Regular exercise also helps. Take care!
